Anyone with any interest in Megazeux (the spiritual successor to the game making program ZZT) probably knows this story. Once upon a time, during the year 2000, two weeks before an epic, futuristic RPG known as BattleSuits was to be released for Megazeux, a hard disk crash rendered the game unrecoverable, effectively destroying nine months worth of work.
The poor soul to lose all that effort was yours truly. x_x;
Afterwards, I felt that if I ever wanted to complete BattleSuits, it would likely be best done as a standalone game, rather than using Megazeux, so I came up with this conceptshot of a battle with a Recon Drone, which can still be fought in the demo versions of the game, obtainable from almost any Megazeux gaming website.
But, the disk crash event set in motion an extreme inability for me to focus on completing things. A problem I've been dealing with for years now and still haven't completely overcome. I back things up now, both onto CD and onto a second hard disk. (My two hard disks are virtually mirrors of each other.)
Let that be a lesson to back your stuff up... especially when you commit nearly a year of your life to something.
(NOTE: As with all the conceptshots I post, it is very unlikely I will ever make these games, but if you want to make them you need to contact me first!)
